Campaigns and lists

Lists, leads and companies

Import and organise the people you write to, and verify their addresses before a campaign touches them.

Where this lives. Sign in and open /leads in the app.

What it does

Leads, Lists, and Companies hold your outreach audience. Leads is every individual contact with its verification and reply status. Lists are saved, static audiences you can pull into a campaign in one click. Companies is an automatic rollup built from your leads' enrichment data.

Before you start

  • A CSV import is capped at 100 MB per file.
  • Verifying a large file of addresses takes real time. If you already paid to verify the data elsewhere, say so during import rather than triggering a fresh probe.
  • Addresses already on the suppression wall are excluded automatically during import. The wall itself is managed on Blocklist, not here.

Set it up, step by step

  1. Go to Leads, then Import (or use "Upload list" or "Salesforce import" from the Lists page).
  2. Upload your CSV, then map each column to Email (required), First name, Last name, Title, Company, or Verification status, or leave a column as "skip."
  3. Choose a destination: add straight to Leads, into a new or existing List, or directly into a Campaign's audience.
  4. Answer "Are these addresses already verified?": "Not verified, verify them here," "Yes, all of them," or "A column in the file says." The last option is recorded as your own claim, dated, and never treated as though this product had probed the addresses itself.
  5. Answer "If a lead is already here?" (matched on email address across the whole workspace): "Leave them as they are," "Fill in what is missing," or "Use this file's details." Blank cells never erase data you already have.
  6. Run the import. A progress indicator tracks rows processed, created, duplicates, and suppressed.
  7. Back on Leads, use "Verify [count] unchecked" whenever addresses still show as not checked.
  8. Organize saved audiences on Lists: group them into folders, and check "Suppressed overlap" before you send to one.

What you should see

  • Leads columns: Lead, Email, Title, Company, In campaign, Verification, Block list, ICP score, Source, and Added date.
  • Verification statuses: Valid, Catch-all, Risky, Unknown, Invalid, and Not checked.
  • Filters for Stage (Never contacted, In a campaign now, Contacted with none live, or Replied), List, Campaign, Block list, and Mailbox type, meaning company domains only versus personal mailboxes.
  • Companies shows Company, Industry, Size, Contacts, In campaigns, and Enriched, built automatically rather than entered by hand. The table shows the 1,000 companies with the most contacts; search reaches the rest.
  • Export CSV is available from the toolbar on these list views.

Common problems

  • A password-like column, such as password, app_password, or token, is refused outright on any bulk import and is never stored.
  • A lead marked blocked on its detail drawer will not be contacted by any campaign in the workspace until you unblock it there.
  • [VERIFY: no tags field was found on Leads, Lists, or Companies in the current code. Leads has verification status, stage, and campaign-membership filters, and Accounts (mailboxes) has its own separate tag field, but leads, lists, and companies themselves do not appear to carry custom tags today.]

Common questions

Should I verify a cold email list before sending?

Always, and before the first send rather than after the first bounce. Hard bounces above about two percent read as a bought list, and a new domain rarely recovers from the reputation that follows.

What does accept-all or catch-all mean?

The receiving domain accepts mail for every address, so a probe cannot prove an individual mailbox exists. It is a policy of that domain, not a fault in the check. Send to accept-all addresses in small volumes and watch what bounces.

How large should a cold email list be?

Size it from capacity, not ambition. Mailboxes times eight to ten sends times working days, divided by the number of steps in your sequence, gives the number of new people you can actually reach in a month.
